the padding of some of the garments in our series 2 comes from a company in the south of germany that has been in existence since 1913.
specialising in ‘vliesstoffe’, non-wovens of all kinds, the raw material wool continues to play an important role.
above all, the idea of producing a wide range of non-wovens from fibres of natural origin in the most resource-friendly way possible, which can then be further processed in an almost unlimited variety of ways.
as insulation, filters or filling material. for beds, mattresses and technical textiles, as well as in the automotive, clothing and construction industries.
the padding we use in our garments consists of a blend of 80% wool and 20% corn-based pla, which is 100% biodegradable.
this is where old and new techniques come together to create a contemporary result that is the first of its kind.
during the production of this wool padding, the ‘vlies’ runs through a kind of oven. the pla fibres melt when exposed to heat; when they cool down, the high wool content remains together to make the padding more durable and ensure longevity.
mainly used in high-performance outdoor and winter sport clothing, the padding requires a low weight, breathability and a high insulation. you can find it in our reversible cross vest, janker jacket and mountain parka.
