this 4th generation weaving mill, which is located in the shizuoka prefecture, specialises in plain woven fabrics with an ultra-high density.

all fabrics are woven exclusively on old shuttle looms, using traditional production methods, that go back over half a century.
their textiles have a thread density 5 to 10% higher than that of conventional fabrics, and are woven with a slower shuttle to produce a fuller, more lush feel.

the fabric selection consists mainly of cotton fibres, but also blends of bamboo, hemp, washi, wool, linen and ramie.

for our series 2 we will offer a small selection of these extraordinary tactile fabrics.

as you walk through the beautiful, light-filled workspaces you are slowly surrounded by snowflakes of fibres, that float all around the room, leaving a mysterious cover, whose traces indicate a handcrafted nature.

knowledge is passed down generation to generation, and the young president inspires both old and young employees to work together with high precision and efficency on the various complex steps of the weaving process.
